In the centre of the room is the Tub, a wonderful metropolis where all the best ideas come from. This city, which contains nearly four million souls, is surrounded by a colossal serpent called Rachel. At seven-and-a-half thousand kilometres in length, Rachel is the largest person in Soap World. The only way to enter The Tub from land is to pass through the meeting point between the tip of her tail and her head. Rachel keeps a close eye on everyone who comes and goes.
Many of the very rich of The Household live here. There is also a ladder here which reaches up into the surface world, ending at 214 Rue Royale, Paris. It is here that the Dodo’s have set up shop to sell some of the finest soap in the world.
Another landmark definitely worth a visiting is Otto the Monster He has calmed down much over the last few centuries, but still has a temper.
He lives in one of the soapy lakes north of the great waterfall. Flailing in a small ocean of bathwater, Otto helps churn treated water and honey to create a latherous shampoo, that is then harvested by the Dodo community which lives in badagos on the shores of the great lake. In return, the Dodo’s constantly scrub the octopus with loofer sponges to get rid of the grassy moss that grows on him, giving the giant octopus a silvery glow.
